Dirty Knobs – I Am Sitting in an Infinite Room
Release: May 1, 2012
I Am Sitting In An Infinite Room is a project that explores and builds upon Alvin Lucier’s original “I Am Sitting In A Room” recording, an experiment in capturing a room’s inherent resonance through the repetition of a recorded voice.
Presented in two parts, I Am Sitting in an Infinite Room first takes Lucier’s original 1969 recording and expands each iteration, looking to further explore the recorded resonance and the spaces in-between. The second half features a new performance by Dirty Knobs using the same technique. I Am Sitting In An Infinite Room looks to highlight the sounds of the space around us, even when we are sitting in “silence.”album > blog > dirty knobs
